EarthTrends: The Environmental Information Portal
"A free online database that focuses on issues of sustainable development and the environment. This site draws statistical, graphic, and analytical information from over 40 internationally recognized data sources. Detailed documentation is provided for serious research."

Energy Citations Database, 1948-
"...contains bibliographic records for energy and energy-related scientific and technical information from the Department of Energy (DOE) and its predecessor agencies...includes bibliographic records of literature in disciplines of interest to DOE such as chemistry, physics, materials, environmental science, geology, engineering, mathematics, climatology, oceanography, computer science and related disciplines. It includes citations to report literature, conference papers, journal articles, books, dissertations, and patents."

Envirofacts Warehouse (EPA)
"The Envirofacts Warehouse allows you to retrieve environmental information from EPA databases on Superfund sites, drinking water, toxic and air releases, hazardous waste, water discharge permits, and grants information. Use online queries to retrieve data or generate maps of environmental information by choosing from several mapping applications available through EPA's Maps On Demand

International Toxicity Estimates for Risk Database (ITER)
"ITER is a compilation of human health risk values for over 500 chemicals of environmental concern from several health organizations worldwide. The database is the only on-line source of compiled risk values that provides side-by-side comparisons of values. All of the data are presented in a tabular format for ease of comparison and the reasons for differences among the organizations' values are explained."
By Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA)

"NEWNET (Neighborhood Environmental Watch Network) provides public access to radiological and meteorological data from environmental monitoring stations operated by the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC), the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Available data include "wind speed and direction, ambient air temperature, barometric pressure, relative humidity and ionizing gamma radiation." Additionally, some stations offer "tipping bucket rain gauges and others have additional radiation sensors." [KR] "

Salton Sea Database Program (SSDP)
"...an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funded project at the University of Redlands to develop Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data research technologies to support the effort to save the Salton Sea from ecological collapse. The mission of the SSDP is to establish an on-line data resource clearinghouse and provide ecosystem decision support."

Terra (EOS AM-1)
"...is the flagship of NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS), a major international science program to monitor climate and environmental change. Terra is collecting a new global data set to enable research into the ways that Earth's lands, oceans, atmosphere, ice, radiant energy, and life function as a whole system. In February 2000, Terra reached final orbit and acquired its first images, some of which are now available to the public!"

Trade Environment Database
