Marylhurst University is located south of Portland, Oregon. Among the oldest collegiate institutions in Oregon, Marylhurst was founded as St. Mary's Academy and College in 1893 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Originally a women's school, St. Mary's expanded over the years and was later renamed to Marylhurst College.
