In 1997, Pat Robertson incorporated Regent University as CBN University. The school established in 1978 with the goal of becoming a preeminent college with a faith-based doctrine.

In 1990, the name changed from CBN to Regent University. The distance learning school offers students who work or have families the chance to earn an accelerated bachelor's degree online or in the classroom.

Student Life at Regent University

Of around 4,500 students at Regent University, the majority of them, more than 2,600, are part-time. The remaining 1,800 students attend school full-time in the classroom or through the distance learning program.
