Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Duquesne University sits on 48 acres of hilltop campus in Pittsburgh's Bluff neighborhood. The school was originally named Pittsburgh Catholic College of the Holy Ghost.
Founded by members of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, in 1878, the school opened its doors. By 1911, the college had become a university. Today, there is a satellite campus in Harrisburg and another campus in Rome through the Italian campus program. Duquesne ranks in U.S. News & World Report's annual college report as a top tier university.

With ten schools and colleges, Duquesne has degree offerings for everyone. Although they are mostly regional, Duquesne has a population of around 10,000 students. There are five residence halls where students live and mingle, as well as over 150 clubs and organizations, including Greek life.
Duquesne competes in NCAA Division I athletics and has won or share 11 football conference titles. Currently, the school is expanding resources, adding a health sciences facility, recording studios and a recreation center. The school maintains three large theater groups and is home to the Tamburitzans, the oldest multicultural song and dance company in the U.S.
