Introduction to Concordia University
Located in Irvine, California, Concordia University sits on 70 acres of campus. Founded in 1976, Concordia University used the ideals of higher education from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) to create a new Christian college.
The school was originally Christ College Irvine (CCI), and since then, its name has changed to reflect alignment with the Concordia University System, a nationwide network of ten colleges and universities. Concordia has grown into a thriving student community with strong Christian traditions.
Student Life at Concordia University
With a small student to faculty ratio and population of over 2,300, students receive individual attention from teachers. There are several residence halls housing campus students, with over 20 leadership programs, clubs and organizations. Students also take part in community service projects, contributing thousands of volunteer hours each year. Concordia participates in NAIA Division I athletics in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
