Introduction to Centenary College

Centenary College is in Hackettstown, New Jersey. In 1867, the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church established the school. The school has gone from a girl's preparatory school to a junior college for women and then a coeducational institution.

Today, Centenary is a 42-acre campus with an equestrian center and off-campus learning centers in MetroPark and Parsippany, New Jersey. The Center for Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS) helps working students who cannot attend a traditional university further their education through accelerated degree programs.

Student Life at Centenary College

Students at Centenary can take campus or online classes. Centenary was the first school to go wireless in 2003, offering students wireless laptops to use for study.

Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of intramural sports, clubs and organizations. The school is known for its commitment to service education, requiring students to take part in community service projects. Students in the equine programs may compete with other schools through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association or the Intercollegiate Dressage Organization.
