Keeping Current on Educational Web Resources

Keeping Current on Educational Web Resources

One of the major challenges facing educators and researchers is keeping current of the many new online resources becoming available every day.  With so much trash being posted on the Internet it is very useful to find several quality "What's New" mailing lists, blogs, or websites to find out what other educators or librarians have discovered to be new quality online resources. The following is a listing of a few of my favorites I consulted to keep Academic Info current.General Resources - Popular & Educational ResourcesLibrarians' Internet Index - LII New This Weekhttp://lii.org/cs/lii/print/htdocs/subsrice.htmlU.S. DocumentsDocuments in the News (University of Michigan)http://www.lib.umich.edu/govdocs/docnews.htmlAcademic ResourcesThe Scout Reporthttp://scout.wisc.edu/Reports/ScoutReport/Current/"Published every Friday both on the web and by email, it provides a fast, convenient way to stay informed of valuable resources on the Internet. Our team of professional librarians and subject matter experts select, research, and annotate each resource."BUBL Linkhttp://bubl.ac.uk/"BUBL is an Internet-based information service for the UK higher education community."INFOMINEhttp://infomine.ucr.edu/Scholarly Internet Resource Collections (Univeristy of California Libraries)ACRL Internet Resources - Association of College & Research Librarieshttp://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/acrl/publications/crlnews/internetresources.cfm"Internet Resources articles from C&RL News provide annotated listings of Internet-accessible resources ranging from Web sites to discussion lists to online journals and more."I will continue listing What's New sites shortly and include subject specific resources.

Add a What's New Email Alert or RSS feed?

I can be blind and miss details often, but I don't see an email alert or RSS feed for newly-added items. Are you working on this? It would make a great resource even better!

Thanks,

Mary
