"This Web site is designed to give an access to the dissertation I wrote for obtaining an MS in Prehistoric Archaeology (1997) at the University of Geneva ... The dissertation is a thorough analysis of the archaeological material gained during the excavation of a stratigraphic profile dug in the largest settlement mound of the Kitngipalak site (often referred to as Kitnepaluk). the site is located on the western coast of St. Lawrence Island, Bering Sea, Alaska. The excavation of Kitngipalak-Trench K2 occured in 1973, as an integrated part of the St. Lawrence Island Archaeological Field Project led by Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Bandi (Bern, Switzerland) between 1967 and 1974."
